Well done Matthew Tamblyn and Rosanna Lyne!

These children are super story writers.

Our Marae Trip

First we were called (Karanga) onto the Marae by the Tangata Whenua

After the speeches and waiata it was time for the hongi

There were many beautiful kowhaiwhai patterns on the ceiling of the wharenui

The kowhaiwhai patterns all have special meanings.

The tukutuku patterns weaved as panels along the walls also had special meanings.

Outside the wharenui we looked at the carvings and talked about the significance of each picture.

We all had a great time at the Marae learning more about the Maori culture.

Congratulations to Namitha and Mario.

An excellent effort Mario in your reading and, awesome progress Namitha in your mathematics.  Well done to you both.
